HI. I am a mother of 2 boys, ages 6 and 8. We recently visited Cave City, KY during our boys spring break. One of the nights we were there we choose to eat at Pizza Hut, and this is where we were kissed by the butterflies of Maddie. Both of our boys were inquiring about the paper butterflies hanging around the resturant and asking about the precious angel staring out at us from the pictures. I read to them the information posted on the donation jug. They immediately wanted to purchase a butterfly. Their next question was "Mom is Maddie 'ok'." Being visitors to the area and not knowing Maddie's story, my response to them was "we can hope and pray that she is." We purchased a butterfly which they both signed as well as a t-shirt. The very upbeat and friendly lady who sold the t-shirt to us asked where we were from and if we had ever heard of PVOD. She also encouraged us to visit Maddie's site. Although I am in the medical profession, I was not familar with this horrible illness, and now that I have read Maddie's story I can't fathom the pain and grief you and your family have endured. I don't know if these words will comfort you in any way but Heaven has a beautiful angel who is spreading butterfly kisses to complete strangers. I admire your quest to inform and educate others of this fatal condition. What strength you all have. Thank you for sharing your story and thank you Maddie for 'fluttering' into our lives. I will share your link with all that I know hoping to help in some small way to expand your valiant effort to find answers. Wendy, Shane, Garrett & Jake Stanbery
